Always check domain registry date. If the domain is registered in the same year that means there are 99% chances that the website is not legit.

If domain age is more than 5 years old, you can think that it's 100% legit because fake websites could not alive more. 

They finish their domain themselves when their target gets completed. So always check it.

2. Check website reviews: 

Always check website reviews before start using because it's possible that there would have been so many people, who have used them and have given their reviews about it.

If you find it, you would get that the website is legit or not?. But always remember, don't believe on just 1 review. Checkout so many reviews, then believe it.

3. Domain expiry date:

Domain expiry date from the date of registration is also helpful to determine that the site is legit or not? 

If the domain is registered only for 1 year, then it is scam but it's only applicable on website that promises to pay.
